Frequently Asked Questions

How do I remove a password from a PDF?

Upload the PDF, type the password you use to open it, and click Remove Password. You get an unlocked copy that opens without asking for a password. Your original file is not changed.

Can I remove printing, copying or editing restrictions?

Yes. Some PDFs open without a password but block printing, copying text or editing. Upload the file and leave the password field empty. TinyKit removes those restrictions and gives you an unrestricted copy.

Can you unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?

No. You need to know the password that opens the file. TinyKit does not crack or guess passwords, which protects documents that belong to other people.

Is my PDF kept private?

Decryption runs on our server because browsers cannot decrypt PDFs reliably. Your file and password travel over HTTPS, are processed in a temporary file, and are deleted immediately after the unlocked PDF is sent back. We never keep a copy and never log your password.

Will removing the password change the content?

No. Text, images, fonts, links, bookmarks and form fields stay exactly the same. Only the encryption is removed.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to 50 MB are supported. For larger files, compress the PDF after unlocking it, or split it into parts first.
