Each account is refreshed once per day. The first time anyone searches an account on a given day we pull fresh numbers from Instagram and save a snapshot; every search after that (that day) is served instantly from our database.

No. There is no login and nothing to install. We only read publicly visible profile numbers, and the account you look up is never notified.
